A Deeper Look
Hikari comes from a seventh-generation tea farm in Shizuoka, the same award-winning producer behind Hane. The farm has cultivated and made tea for generations, beginning their own aracha, or crude tea, processing in 1924. That end-to-end understanding of the leaf — from cultivation to processing — remains at the heart of their work today.
While their history with matcha is relatively young, their foundation in Japanese tea runs deep. Decades of experience with sencha bring a different perspective to matcha, resulting in a style defined by clarity, gentle umami, creamy texture, and a clean finish.
